Our Events over the Summer
Since our last up-
In June we went to a Farm in Derbyshire where we enjoyed a Dry River bed climb. Some of the lads had done it before so they chose to go further up this time, just stopping short of private houses up there.
The other lads that hadn’t done it before had a thoroughly enjoyable morning, climbing boulders, trying to find their way through the big rat leaves that in some places completely cover the river bed. Jane and I set them off down river and then went over the farmers fields to wait for them arriving further up. She took Barney with her and as you can see he both enjoyed the walk and the can!
Of course there was lots of digging , tweaking and repairing to be done too!
The at the end of July on yet another good long week end weather wise we went to N.Wale's , the camp site in Meantwrog was a good one, the forest tracks, the lanes over the scree and hilltops were brilliant, with views over the valleys
Then for August bank holiday our R.O.W. Officer organised a really good week end further down near Clyro in “Deepest Darkest Wales”Here we had three groups of 4, all doing varies degrees of laning. Our Group chose to do Strata Florida and the long B.O.A.T.s in the area and the other two groups did lanes with a bit of a challenge to them.
