Upper Loads - Challenge 3rd Round 2006

4-6th August

This was the last Round of our Challenge Event this year which was Navigation.

Jane and I had set off one very nice Sunday a couple of weeks before the Event, Jane driving Jonathan's Jimny with me navigating. We had also set the previous Challenge at Tong, this was so that our respective partners could take part this year for a change.

Saturday we had the motley crew below eager to start with a timed rope throwing event, each to retrieve partners shoe . This was purely fun just to sort out the starting order for the Navigation

Some of the grid refs were on local lanes and others along the roads. At the end of the day we had our winners of the whole Challenge, being 3 events. The Ugly looking threesome here are they!

Of course you can't have an event without your Camp fire and the macho ones who cut up the material.

We shared our event with our Romily friends and on the Sunday a trial was set out so we had quite a bit of competition between our lads.

And... their lads

Of course weather by bad judgment or lack of experience you get the odd casualty which when you see hasn't caused any physical harm can be quite funny. Lets face it most fellas get more Joy out of recovery don't they.(that's my opinion)

As the pictures tell you we had a great week-end and yet again the weather was kind to us.

These last three pictures tell you we accommodate both young and old wherever possible and we have;

Me and Granddaughter putting up canvas; Young fellow/ Old fellow in log saw race & Dad teaching son on the finer points of how to get the land rover dirty as well.
