Our last Event was shared with our Romily friends
and although few on the ground we did have a good weekend. After
a very hot and heavy start to Saturday, the thunder and lightening
came around 3.30 and for about 3hrs it rained hard. By 6.30 it
had cleared and the barbecues came out and an of evening of joviality
and banter began.
|
|
After
some of us got up on the Sunday, other's too and a good hearty
breakfast went down, the
trials started around 10.00. |
|
|
There were 7 sections and about 3 in reverse. All very interesting
and some were caught out on the going up bits!
|
|
One
of the sections had been set with a gate along side a leaning tree
and
although most just glided by without any damage, one of the fellows
didn't quite judge it right and knocked the top of his snorkel
off. Simon kindly demonstrating where but he wasn't so lucky himself
as you can see he lost his window side trim.
|
|
This
was followed by a downward slope that also meant coming back
up and getting up was the problem as there was a large rock that
had most people on the wrong line, results, mixed!
|
|
A
good trial, everyone enjoyed it especially the winner who was
Jonathan.
The
sun was baking down on us as we packed away and one by one ever
one left
us and as usual we were the last to leave. We were very
tired and home and bed seemed like a wonderful Idea.
