Tong 2005

The weekend started early for Steve Eddie Trevor and I as we set off bright and early. After finding our spot and putting the shutters up, off we went for a leisurely stroll around the Garden Centre and finished off in the Coffee shop, mm lovely!

As everyone started to arrive we got together for an evening meal at the local Carvery and that was excellent.

Saturday started at a slow pace as we weren’t due on the site till 11.30 so silliness crept in.

Well as per usual the Romiley lads were eager to get started followed by our more mature lads at their own pace. Trevor and I drove round for ages without seeing any one and just as we were going to go back we spotted our lads playing follow my leader. They had found this steep hill with a twist in it and were merrily towing each other up. I’m not sure how the first vehicle got there though to help out! During following each other round as you can see, Dave didn’t quite get the right line and somehow ended up doing a duck dive into a ditch.

With Goddard in the lead on the drop below, this was the start of some of the lads with the Macho image trying to do better. No one made it across the muck and slutch, everyone had to be towed out but they had good fun doing it.

By the end of the day the child in some of your Committee members decided to come out and have a B*?!dy good time!
This time the paddling pools had a wet run!

By the evening everyone had had a good day and we went onto have a barbecue then lit a big bonfire where everyone brought there chairs and sat round to while the night away.

Sunday was in the same vein with muck, mud and water with all the folks enjoying themselves until a rather nasty accident occurred of a Land Rover sliding and turning over but with quick thinking a more major accident was prevented.

Everyone conformed to the rules and left the site on time; also it was left very clean as a quick check before we left confirmed that. Thanks go to everyone who came and supported the event and we hope that you all enjoyed your weekend.
