Holmfirth Trial Easter 2004

Firstly, thank you to Lee and John for coming along on the Saturday to set out the sections.
It is nice to get some input from the membership and other people always see the terrain differently.

We laid out seven sections in the couple of hours we were at the site, and due to the overall size of the place this is about as may as you can fit in without changing on them on the day.

We always get a mixed bunch turning up on the day, for what is the clubs first trial of the year, and this occasion was no different. There were 13 drivers in a mixture of Suzuki’s and Land Rovers. The terrain at Holmfirth can be quite demanding on the vehicles, so any section where we were having difficulty, I just blamed Lee and John for setting them out.

We completed 4 easier sections in the morning and after a short break for lunch another four.

A few of the Land Rovers suffered dented roof panels during the course of the day, as they lent against various trees and Gareth’s Land Rover suffered a broken starter from a rogue stone.

The weather stayed dry and bright, which lead to a good day out for all concerned.
