Dusk till Dawn run

We all met up on the Saturday evening, with a very good turn out of over 15 vehicles. Pat gave us the low down on what was planned for the evening and gave us a few pointers so that we weren't mistaken for sheep rustlers and didn't wake up any local villagers who would be blissfully aware of the 30 tonne rolling road passing their houses....

We broke up into different groups, having arranged rendezvous throughout the evening. Only an hour into the first section I was blessed with lightening my Range Rovers load by severing off the exhaust pipe, adding a comforting tinkle on each bump there after.

At the first rendezvous (post a female group visit to the local lavatory) everyone was sharing their experiences and in high spirits, particularly the passengers within John Pickles Land Rover who were pleasantly surprised by the group testing his suspension and turning it into a mobile disco unit :-)

It wasn’t long before we were at the next rendezvous, being advised by the local constabulary (who did pop up every now and again) that a number of illegal raves were taking place locally. Fortunately Trevor was hidden at the time so they let us go without a second glance...

Then followed the next section of green laning through the fields and getting to know the local sheep rather well. Tackling some deep ruts and understanding the need to have my side lights made a little brighter.

Later in the day at the final meeting point around 4am. The Tea was brewing, the sausages and eggs cooking away leaving time to enjoy the rising of the sun (photo taken here). Once people had filled their stomachs and came to terms with their lack of sleep the party gradually dispersed setting off on their tarmac journey home, to welcoming beds and a well deserved sleep...
